How to Catch a Baby

I got to teach early morning seminary this morning.  Ray played a great trick on me, too.  As I was driving home, I called to see if Levin had woken up.  He gasped, "Oh shoot!  I forgot I was watching him.  I got in my routine this morning and I'm already at the office."  He said it so convincingly that I was... convinced.  He even let out a chuckle when he was telling me; as if he couldn't believe he'd forgotten.  That chuckle was what tricked me.

This got me to thinking, however.  Should we ever lose Levin, how will we catch him?

I think I've found the answer.

How to catch a baby:

With jewels.

At seminary, part of the lesson had us all doing 10 push-ups and you have to wear a dress to teach Seminary.  That's why I wore my heavy-duty black tights.   I figured it would be less traumatizing for the students to see their teacher doing push-ups with them if she was wearing black tights with her skirt... almost like wearing black work-out spandex... kind of.

Levin wanted to practice taking his senior pictures today.  I kindly reminded him that he won't be a senior for 17 more years.  "Practice makes perfect," he said.

And indeed it does.

I don't know if you can see the tears under his eye, but let's just say I was picking my battles at this point.

Also note he is wearing his pajamas.  That's because he is in bed now and it's only 7:00pm.

I'm kind of glad today is over.

Pinterest Parties

Ande and I try to have Pinterest Parties once a month.  Today was the day.  Sometimes we do the same project, and sometimes we each do our own.  But, we do it together.

By the end of the day, Levin has had ENOUGH and Ande's dog Chewie NEEDS a walk; but we both walk home with something worthy of being hung on the fridge.

Today it was making clay eggs.

I put this picture in because I like that there are cell phones in the background.
Someday we'll get a kick out of seeing what phones looked like "back then."

Ande is the artist in the family, so it was no small deal when she said I was better at making clay eggs than her.  I suggested she not make her eggs so flat on the bottom.

In October we made wire and muslin mummies.

Following the directions, or at least looking at the picture a lot.

The sheet Ande ripped up for the mummies

Apparently this is my crafting sweatshirt...
Either that, or I wear it so often the odds are high it would be in both pictures

My mummy had to be posed in a break-dance move.
His proportions were so far off, only a break-dance pose could hide it.

These Pinterest Parties just reaffirm my belief that women need women.  Ray seconds it.

How to Boil a Frog

Being that Levin can crawl and pull himself up on things... we're not sure why he stays in bed.

A burning desire to obey I guess.

On Sunday, the lesson I gave to the young women (ages 12-18) at church was about the importance of maintaining and supporting family relationships.  It was a fitting topic as Abe and Grace had just been visiting the week before.  Their visit was one of the examples we discussed in the class.  I love my family, and that love is only becoming stronger as time passes and our family grows and evolves.

I'm just so grateful that God gave us families.
